Muslim Moms & Neonatal Loss

Shownotes:

Better late than never, but we finally chose what we think is an appropriate addition to this month's series on Muslim Moms and Overcoming Infertility. It's not an easy one, but it's a must in this series.

Trigger warning! Neonatal loss.

Listen to Abeeha Hassan's experience of neonatal loss after her IVF journey. All that anticipation and work to come home empty-handed is heartbreaking for anyone going through it. It can also be very lonely. Early on in her recovery, Abeeha wanted us to broadcast normalizing the grief of such loss, and to support it. In this episode, she taught us sabr (patience), shukr (gratitude), and tawwakul (unshaking faith in Allah SWT). Also, to shut up and show up for our friends who've experienced unthinkable loss.

Her process of closure may seem familiar to someone else who has gone this journey alone, and we are so touched that Abeeha chose to share her story with us. We pray a momsister finds comfort in knowing there’s someone sharing her story of loss and is available to talk about it. Say her daughter's name: "Jannah." @mamofalittleangel
